It is a privilege to work alongside the Preps as they begin their learning journeys. It’s always my aim to help the boys and girls discover their ‘lightbulb moments’ in a way that best suits them. It is especially rewarding to be a teacher in Prep as it is a year of such enormous growth. We set high expectations, but at the same time, make learning fun. At WNPS, we’re focused on building happy and resilient kids, ready for the challenges of school and life beyond.

It is a privilege teaching Prep at Wandin North Primary School. Sharing in the learning journey of every student is not only a rewarding experience but heartwarming to witness. With Prep the beginning of a student’s schooling journey, I am passionate about creating strong, collaborative connections with students and their families, developing a supportive relationship that will exist throughout a child’s whole primary schooling.

My job as a 1/2 teacher helps me to find the fun in every day. Our 1/2 students are a smiley bunch who bounce into the classroom ready to learn. In the classroom we provide interactive and supportive learning environments through hands-on learning experiences. I build relationships with my students based on shared interests and common ground as it is important to me that my students feel a part of the class as a whole, and are invested in their own learning. Outside of school, I live on a small acreage farm and enjoy adding to my growing tally of animals.

Stepping into a 5/6 classroom each day is a joy—there’s nothing quite like watching students light up with curiosity, grow in confidence, and discover new opportunities to shine. Alongside my teaching, I’m also proud to lead our school’s work in “Student Voice, Agency, Leadership, and Wellbeing.” This means I get to support every student across the school to speak up, take ownership of their learning, explore leadership roles, and build positive wellbeing habits. One of the highlights? Helping bring our school podcast to life—where student voices truly take center stage!

I have worked at Wandin North Primary School since 2008 and feel very passionately that our community is like no other. I have loved teaching every year level over the years but feel that my job teaching HEROES since 2023 is by far my favourite. Each week I get to teach the children how to be HEROES for our planet by teaching them about sustainability, the environment and how to grow their own food. Outside of school I live on a small farm with my family and lots of animals.

I’ve been teaching at Wandin North Primary School since 2015, and in recent years, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Art across all year levels. With a background in Visual Arts, I’m passionate about nurturing creativity and encouraging students to explore their unique perspectives. There’s something magical about watching children express themselves through imagination. I love creating a space where students feel safe to explore—Art gives them a voice, builds confidence, and opens their eyes to the beauty in the world. I’m so thrilled to be a part of the Wandin North Primary School community as an Education Support teacher. I work closely with our wonderful Grade 1/2 students and I absolutely love being a part of their learning journey helping them grow in confidence and discover their strengths. I also enjoy supporting our dedicated teachers and contributing to the warm, inclusive environment that makes Wandin North such a special place to learn and work. I’m about to begin my Masters of Teaching and am excited to continue building my skills so I can make an even greater difference in the lives of our students.
