Physical Education at our school is supported by two PE specialists who each cover different grade levels - one taking the upper three grades and the other taking the lower six grades. The lower grades learn a range of skills such as skipping, ball handling and learning the rules and playing games. The upper grades spend time learning athletic skills such as high jump, discus and shotput. They also further develop their understandings of the rules and playing of specific games. It is more oriented towards team games and playing as part of a team.
As a school we participate in quite a few sporting activities throughout the year. The younger grades(Prep to Two) do a Phototrail and Tabloid sports. The older grades (three to six) participate in cross country, athletics and orienteering. Grades Five and Six have Interschool Sport during Terms 3 and 4 and they have the choice between football, netball and volleystars.
We also have a range of clinics that are conducted at the school for different grade levels. These include hockey, Kanga cricket and AFL football.
Grade Five and Six also have the option of going to Phillip Island in Term 1 to do a surfing clinic.
We annually support Jump Rope 4 Heart, having a variety of fun activities and raising some money for this worthy cause.
